Cetaceans, key mammals in the oceanic world, are facing an increasingly treacherous living habitat, which is threatening their existence and indirectly affecting the overall ecological environment.
The site for the design has been chosen to be within the National Museum of Marine Biology & Aquarium, carrying the mission to improve insufficiency of cetacean rescue center and to enhance the Museum’s facilities. Besides providing professional areas for restoration and research, it is hoped that through the integration of architectural techniques and exhibition space, more ambitious experiments can be done towards the ambiance within the exhibition areas and architecture’s exterior structures, so that visitors will enjoy a completely different museum experience. On the other hand, in response to the awakening of environmental awareness, live performances have also been reduced, and specimen and restoration processes have instead been utilized to educate the visitors. As attention is drawn, related issues will hopefully also be emphasized.
